We are UK leaders in making music with people in health and social care settings and experts in playing high quality live music to connect, share culture, express emotion and enhance wellness in the people we meet.

We have created lots of different music resources for patients and families to enjoy after our sessions.

Training for Musicians

Are you a musician interested in bringing your skills and music into a healthcare setting. Our courses guide you through music making and explore what it means to be a musician in healthcare in an open and creative way.

Training for Healthcare Professionals

We provide training for individuals, healthcare professionals, and groups, to explore the use of music in a healthcare setting, and how it can positively impact patients, residents, and families.

OPUS Music create and deliver music in health and social care settings

OPUS Music is a community interest company, working alongside communities to deliver impactful projects and services. We deliver music-making for improved health and wellbeing in healthcare and community settings across the East Midlands.

We also deliver training for musicians and healthcare professionals, championing the positive effect of music on our health and wellbeing.

We deliver these practices and work across numerous health and social care settings, providing music in hospitals, care and community settings including specific projects for those who have an acquired brain injury, experienced stroke or living with dementia or social anxiety.

"As staff, we are so relieved when we see them walk through the doors. Today they came to the unit, we had a delirious patient, they started playing and immediately the patient settled and relaxed back into their bed. They continued to play and calmed the patient so much that they fell into a deep and comfortable sleep."

"Hearing something different to the usual beeps and cries really helped to lift the spirits of parents, carers and the children. The music played had a calming (but happy) impact on all of the children in our bay."

They really do make things feel better. To see my daughter join in and enjoy the music and singing was so refreshing after seeing so much upset from being unwell. They take pressure off of parents to entertain, take pressure off staff as patients/parents/carers are otherwise entertained, and they really do make the ward a lovely place to be when they're there."
